Fresh for Fall

Fall already?! From all of us here at Socias, we hope you were able to enjoy the summer while it lasted. As they say, all good things must come to an end…

Hopefully at the end of summer you’ve been refreshed by some vitamin D, fresh air, and maybe a beach day or two (or three!) Your hair deserves to feel refreshed, too. As the days get shorter, we’re left to deal with hair damage that the summertime causes. Driving with the windows down, chlorinated pools, and good ol’ sunshine all contribute to faded color, dryness, and split ends. Read on to see the different ways you can revive your hair and step into the new season and school year with style. Also: be sure to read to the end of the blog for a special announcement!

Get Glossy

Has summer left your hair with faded color and lack of shine? A glaze, also known as a toner, is a semi-permanent color that may be perfect for you!  You can use a glaze to adjust your current color; brunettes with dull ends can add richness, and blondes who may have gone brassy in the sun can correct and cool their tone. You and your stylist may also choose a clear glaze, adding shine and smoothness without changing your shade.

Trim It Up

Dryness and split ends are a hallmark of a summer well-spent, especially for those with long hair. If the last time your ends saw the shears was the springtime, you’re due for a trim. A small trim off the ends can do wonders in improving the health of your hair and actually promotes growth.

Many people like to grow their hair out to easily pull it up in the heat. Now that temps are dropping, consider cutting more than your split ends! Collarbone-length lobs are making a stylish comeback at the turn of the season.

Cooler Weather, Cooler Color

Something about the change of season really just makes us want to do something new with our look! Blondes go darker, brunettes go lighter, and thinking about the coming foliage even makes some consider trying out an auburn or copper shade. Want a change but need some inspiration? Check out our previous fall blog post linked below: it’s chock full of beautiful autumn makeovers.

The Olaplex Option

You’ve probably heard us mention this amazing treatment before, but allow us to remind you: unlike a conditioner or mask that coats the hair’s surface with moisture, Olaplex penetrates the hair shaft and works to repair the bonds broken from heat or chemical services. Olaplex can be a stand-alone treatment (complete with a blow-out!) or added to any coloring service, whether it be a glaze, your usual root-touch up, or highlight. Curious about how this works and if it’s a good option for you? Give us a call or ask your Socias stylist at your next appointment.

As you can see, there’s plenty of ways to revamp your hair for fall, whether it be subtle as improving the health of your hair or a complete change of color and cut.
