MA COVID-19 Checklist

SOCIAS is ready to welcome you back!

You may feel a bit of trepidation, as do we. So know that SOCIAS is committed to maintaining the standards of the Health and Safety regulations. The disinfecting and safety guidelines provided by the state of Massachusetts will be thoroughly observed.

And as much as we all hate it; unfortunately, there is a new normal for now; even at SOCIAS. That being said, please become acquainted with the guidelines and expectations for your upcoming appointment.

HYGIENE PROTOCOLS

  • Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance and at every station.
  • Soap and water will also be available for hand washing.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting of each station and tools will be done before and after every guest.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting high traffic areas will occur throughout the day. 
  • A newly washed cape will be provided to every guest upon arrival.
  • Your stylist will also be wearing a freshly laundered apron for each guest along with other necessary PPE.
  • All staff members have received an OSHA COVID-19 Certification, a Barbicide COVID-19 Certification along with COVID-19 Response and Reopening Sector Specific Training.

APOINTMENTS REQUIRED

  • Appointments are required
  • When you arrive for your appointment please call 781-272-9822 to let us know you have arrived. You can remain in your car until your stylist is ready to greet you.
  • Temperatures of stylists and clients will be taken daily. A temperature past 100.4 F will require rescheduling.
  • Our waiting area is temporarily closed. Please come to your appointment alone. (unless there is a medical need.)
  • Please bring only necessary belongings into the salon; such as cell phone and your form of payment. (leave coats, bags, drinks and food items in your car please)
  • Consent forms will be confirmed or need to be signed upon entering salon.
  • All (stylists and clients) will need to practice love of neighbor. Please reschedule your appointment if you are feeling ill, or if someone in your house has tested positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of your appointment.
  • Cancellations are necessary 24 hours in advance. Any no show appointment will be charged in full.

FACE MASK ETIQUETTE

  • Face masks are required to be worn and supplied by our guests.
  • Disposable face masks are preferred for color services.
  • Our stylists will be wearing the state mandated PPE.

CURRENT SERVICES

  • We are only offering hair services for the time being.
  • Hair services will include color, highlights and cuts.
  • Consultations will be at the chair facing the mirror. Please bring up hair images you would like to achieve on your phone as we will not be displaying magazines at this time.
  • Blow dry services will be temporarily postponed for the safety of guests and staff. 

SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • To allow for a minimum of 6’ between each station we are using fewer stations.
  • All will be encouraged to remain six feet apart.
  • Barriers are in place at the front desk and other areas to ensure protection and separation where needed.
  • Any retail products you need will be chosen by one of our team members. It will be prohibited to touch the retail personally.
  • We will limit the total amount of clients in the salon at a time to ensure distancing; which will require adjustments to our schedules and the need for your understanding.

PAYMENT METHODS

  • After your service is complete, you can check out at the front desk where we will accept  credit cards only. No cash. Your stylist will also be able to assist you from your chair.
  • Tipping your stylist and/or assistant will now be a separate transaction. You can use various apps for this, Venmo and Cash App will be used by the Socias staff. If you choose to tip by cash or check, please give it to the stylist in an envelope.

We appreciate your attention to this rather serious and detailed matter.


Although there is a bit more drama to your next appointment, we really look forward to making your next visit to SOCIAS as enjoyable, relaxing and beautifying as is possible.
