Socias to Re-Open on June 15, 2020

Socias is happy to inform you that our official reopen date is set for June 15th.

I know this news may be very disappointing for many of you, as it is for all of the Socias team. We all would like things to go back to ‘normal’ as soon as possible. However, based on the overwhelming evidence that hair salons  are on the higher risk category and should probably not be in phase one we’ve decided to wait it out just a little bit longer. Hold on! 

One source, Dr. Deborah Birx, ‘cautioned governors from including hair salons and barber shops — even when people are wearing masks — in their first round of reopenings.’ Dr Anthony Fauci also cautioned to quote, against “leapfrogging” adding, “there are some states, some cities, or what have you, who are looking at that and kind of leapfrogging over the first checkpoint,” “and I mean obviously you could get away with that, but you are making a really significant risk.”

We know that buying a couple more weeks will help eliminate some risks. The number of cases will hopefully start declining. We will also be able to see what some of the after effects are and learn what practices will best be implemented. We will also would not be contributing to any spike, if that were to happen. This will enable us to provide the ‘safest’ environment possible for all of our clients and staff. Presently, all of the Socias team are being certified in Osha COVID-19 awareness and Barbicide COVID-19 Certification. This next week, we will all be attending a Zoominar entitled ‘COVID-19 Response and Reopening Sector Specific Training’ for salons.

I’m sure all of this information is a bit daunting as it is for myself writing it.  We want to thank you for your continued patience and support. We are starting the rescheduling process, and phone lines at Socias will be open on Thursday and Friday, June 11th and 12th from 11-6pm. We do hope this time of quarantining has taught us some lessons. One being patience. How challenging, but remember, patience is a virtue! Definition: The ability to wait for something without frustration is a useful skill and a good aspect of one’s personality.

This hopefully will become our new motto!
